DIY Natural Products Lavender and Rosemary Shampoo

One of the fun things about making your own products is all the different combinations you get to try out and all the different scents. One of my favorite shampoo mixtures is the combination of Lavender and Rosemary. The lavender is very soothing and relaxing and the Rosemary has a great cleansing effect that also helps to clean your scalp and relieve itching and dandruff. This is easy to make and a regular amount like normal shampoo goes a long way. Be sure to shake it first each time you use it. I also add a few drops of Tea Tree Oil, which you should always put in your hair shampoo as it will keep lice away.

Lavender and Rosemary Shampoo
-          ½ Cup of Lavender Castile Soap
-          1 ½ Cups of Water (prefer distilled)
-          3 tsps Fractionated Coconut Oil
-          1-3 drops of Lavender Oil
-          5-10 drops of Rosemary Oil
-          1-3 drops of Tea Tree Oil

Directions
Combine and put in a squirt bottle. Use regular amount of shampoo and be sure to shake each time before using.  Although this is safe for kids it is not tear free, so if you get it into your eyes they may sting. You can also use this for an all over body wash and shampoo as well.

DIY Natural Products Lavender and Eucalyptus Body Wash

DIY Natural Products Lavender and Eucalyptus Body Wash

One of the fun things about making your own products is all the different combinations you get to try out and all the different scents. One of my favorite body wash mixtures is the combination of Lavender and Eucalyptus. The lavender is very soothing and relaxing and the eucalyptus has a nice calming and cleansing effect that I love in this body wash. This is easy to make and a little dime size amount on a bath poof goes a long way. Try it out and feel free to swap different scent oils to see what your personal favorite is.

Lavender and Eucalyptus Body Wash

-          1 cup of water (preferably distilled)
-          ¾ cup of Lavender Castile Soap (you can get just plain castile and add lavender oil if you want)
-          15-20 drops of Eucalyptus Oil
-          3 TBSPS of Coconut Oil (I prefer to use Fractionated Coconut oil as it has no smell and is more lightweight on your body and hair. However, if you want to thicken the shampoo or it is all you have you can use regular coconut oil, but you will have to heat it up to get it to a liquid state first then combine)

Directions
Combine and put in a squirt bottle. Use about a dime size amount on a bath poof for clean, moisturized skin and a wonderful feeling! Although this is safe for kids it is not tear free, so if you get it into your eyes they may sting. Stay tuned for a baby wash recipe in the near future!

Snack Healthy with Hail Merry Bites

Snack Healthy with Hail Merry Bites
Written By Renee Arbia

Sponsor: Green Moms Meet and Hail Merry Bites
I received this productfor free from Moms Meet(momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

A favorite snack that we love to pack in lunches and on the go are cookies, however cookies are never sold in a very healthy way. Plus, they tend to crumble when left too long in bags and taste stale after a while.

New Hail Merry Bites are perfect for snacking. They are made with Certified C.L.E.A.N ingredients and healthy fats including energizing organic virgin coconut oil and sweet almond flour. They are made in a women-owned kitchen that produces award winning and great tasting recipes that are low-temperature dehydrated which protects the integrity of the raw dietary oils and pure ingredients so that they always taste fresh. Hail Merry is a snack food company that celebrates the benefits of plant-based dietary oils and fats that balance the total carbohydrate load, making them guilt-free snacks and desserts.

We loved the Hail Merry Bites. I like that you store them in the fridge but they do taste better actually sitting out for a while. It makes them perfect for packing and snacking. They are great for a pre-workout snack, a reward, school lunches, snacking on the go or entertaining. Both my husband and my son love them as much as I do. They did not taste like anything healthy. One serving is two bite size cookies and they are surprisingly filling for a snack. The only issue we found is if you do not like coconut you may not like these as all of them have coconut oil or coconut itself in them. Also, they do have nuts, so if you have a nut allergy they are not good for you. Hail Merry Bites are so delicious and good for you. They help give you energy and also help with your sweet tooth!

Hail Merry Bites come in six different flavors, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Caramel Sea Salt, Salted Brownie, Pure Vanilla Macaroon, Lemon Macaroon, and Dark Chocolate Macaroon. All flavors are certified C.L.E.A.N, Gluten-free, Certified Vegan, Kosher, Dairy-free, Grain-free, Peanut-free, Paleo-friendly, and Non-GMO verified and do not contain any highly-refined sugars or flours. You can find Hail Merry Bites in the refrigerated section of your grocery store or visit www.hailmerry.com/where-to-buy to find a store near you!

The New Addition to Our Game Collection

The New Addition to Our Game Collection

I wrote this post while participating in a campaign and received a gift to thank me for my time. All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced or reviewed by the company prior to posting. Now that Xavier is four years old. He loves to play games. He has a few games mostly of the normal variety such as Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Connect Four and Guess Who. We are always on the look out for new games. I am not normally a game type of person. However, how can you say no when your adorable four-year old asks if you will play a game with him? Plus, it guarantees quality time together and you get to sit down to play.

The Learning Journey International has come up with a game called Match It which is a trilingual learning game. You simply match the picture cards to the word cards. The word cards have three languages on them English, Spanish and French. They hold together like a big puzzle piece. It comes with thirty cards in all. There are a variety of ways to put the puzzle together and no real directions so it lets you make your own rules while playing. The game is geared towards kids aged three and up. Since Xavier does not read yet we simply do things such as, I read the word and he finds the picture. After a few times of that we switched it up where I held the picture and spelled the word in English and he looked for it. He is getting much better at remembering the words and memorizing what words go with what pictures, which is a great way to start to learn to read by memorizing the look of certain words.

I really like this game it comes in a really nice box complete with a handle that has already withstood our child flinging it around, leaving it on the floor and the black Labrador dog walking on it. Also the cards are very durable and strong. I like that you do not have to worry about the pieces breaking like some cheap puzzles and again they have withstood being stepped on, flung around and played with in all sorts of ways.

Match It by the Learning Journey is definitely a game we enjoy playing and are happy to add to our game collection. After just a few games Xavier can even play it by himself when he wants. It’s a great addition to any household. You can order your Match It game by the Learning Journey from Amazon!

DIY Natural Products Lotion

DIY Natural Products Lotion

All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced or reviewed by the company prior to posting. If you have been following the blog along lately you will have noticed we started making our own products at home. There are many reasons to make your own products, our main reasons are because they contribute to our green living lifestyle and are better for us and the environment as well as being cheaper than alternatives and are fun to make. Check out some DIY Natural Product basic tips and our recipe for Laundry Detergent and Dish Soap.

Today’s DIY recipe is one of my personal favorites. My husband is a big fan of this lotion as well and we use it pretty much for everything. This lotion is gentle enough for babies or kids, sensitive skin, your face, acne prone skin and if you need a lotion to put on a rash. I usually make this lotion with Lavender Oil as it is soothing and calming and helps promote relaxation. It is perfect for your baby lotion instead of the store bought. I also make a smaller version of this lotion and use Tea Tree Oil instead of Lavender, the Tea Tree oil helps with acne prone skin and is good for extremely sensitive skin. This is a small amount, but you may want to test it before making a large amount as a little bit of this lotion goes a long way.

DIY Lotion

-          ½ Coconut Oil
-          ½ aloe vera gel
-          10 drops Lavender (or Tea Tree) essential oil

On the stove heat the coconut oil until is all one consistency and clear. Put in blender/food processor with aloe vera gel and essential oil and blend until smooth and well mixed. Put in a container with a lid.

The only thing about this lotion is that it will melt. I typically rotate putting it in the fridge over night and pulling it out during the day. It works well no matter if it is hot or cold it is just a preference for you. Even when it is really cold I find I can rub it in my hands and then use it easily. Try it for yourself and see how much you love it!

No More Nose Blunders with Naspira

No More Nose Blunders with Naspira

I received this product for free from the sponsor of the Moms Meet program (greenmomsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my opinion on my blog. My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions of May Media Group LLC or the manufacturer of this product.

Baby and children items are always being upgraded. There are tons of different types of cribs, bouncers, strollers, car seats, even diapers are always changing and getting better than they were before. One of the few things you will notice does not change is your nasal bulb to clean out your baby’s nose. It is the same bulb given at hospitals for years. You can have a baby and get a nasal bulb then have another baby five years later and get the same nasal bulb. While the normal nasal bulb is useful it does not last very long. Sooner or later it gets nasty on the inside and is too hard to clean. It does not always fit into your toddler’s nose after a while and for really big nose and sinus issues you are left with not much to choose from to help your little one when they need it the most.

NeilMed is one of the largest manufacturer and supplier of saline nasal irrigation systems in the world. They have developed a growing line of products for baby care, ear care and first aid. NeilMed has made their company mission to provide safety, affordability, and effectiveness to sustain long-term growth and create drug-free and effective nasal/sinus care for millions of consumers worldwide. One of my personal favorite products of NeilMed’s is their Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator. The NeilMed Nasal-OralAspirator safely and effectively suctions your baby’s and toddler’s stuffy, runny or congested noses. Unlike some nasal-oral aspirators the NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator uses a 2-in-1 design to use it as a Nasal Bulb aspirator that you can clean or as an effective Nasal-Oral suction device. The suction force is generated by the mouth of the parent and alleviates nasal congestion in babies and small children.

I really like that this is a 2-in-1 device. The fact I can quickly and easily use it as a bulb or nasal-oral aspirator really helps. It is so very easy to clean and pull apart for sterilization.

Plus, it even comes with seven in-line filters to change as needed and it all stores nicely in the mesh bag that is provided.

Xavier likes it and does not mind his nose being suctioned when needed and we plan on using the NeilMed Nasapira Nasal-Oral Aspirator for our new baby girl when she gets here.

In fact lots of moms who have tried the new NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator no matter the age of their children have loved it’s easy to use and easy to clean design that is lacking in so many other nasal bulbs.

NeilMed has a whole line of baby, children and adult nasal products available, including Neti pots and irrigation systems. You can purchase the NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator at any of these stores…

Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Harmon, Kinney Drugs, Shop Rite, Brookshire’s, Amazon.com, drugstore.com, neilmed.com and myotcstore.com

Save $3.00 on purchasing the NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator when you order from neilmed.com and use the code MOMSBLOG

Lift your Bump with a Belly Belt

Lift Your Bump with a Belly Belt
Written By Renee Arbia

I wrote this post while participating in a campaign and received a gift to thank me for my time. All views and opinions with regard to the products or company itself are my own and were not influenced or reviewed by the company prior to posting. I am currently in the third trimester, also known as the home stretch of my pregnancy. Things have been going good. Since this is our second child, many of the pregnancy issues I have I am already aware of, and have been anticipating as time has been going by. One of the pregnancy side effects that caught me off guard was the ligament pain. I barely had any ligament pain with my first pregnancy. However, with this second pregnancy it has been bothering me since my bump starting showing. Now that I am very pregnant with a big bump the ligament pain can get to the point it is almost unbearable. Being a mommy already does not allow me to always be off my feet as much as I would like to alleviate the pain. My doctor recommended trying a belly belt. Frequently a woman’s second pregnancy the ligament pain is more intense due to the belly expanding faster as your body’s natural reaction to already knowing what to do for pregnancy, so I was beyond excited to test out the new Kre8me Maternity Belt for this pregnancy.

The Kre8me Maternity Belt is a comfortable support belt designed to aid pregnant women with back/general discomfort or pain throughout the day. The special design is low profile (neutral color, and very discrete) and will allow you to carry out your everyday activities with far less discomfort. The maternity belt works very similarly to a back brace. However, the maternity belt is much softer. It clasps with Velcro and is adjustable. It is even one size fits all.

When I put on the Kre8me Maternity Belt I felt a difference right away. My bump was lifted slightly off of my sore ligaments and it relieved a lot of the tension in my lower back. It makes doing any activity much more manageable especially when you have a large bump. It is very discreet and comes in the nude color so it easily hides under shirts and clothing. It has made this pregnant woman’s life so much more comfortable and I am so glad I have it to help out during this last trimester!

The Kre8me Maternity Belt is hand washable, comes in the nude color and is one size fits all. You can purchase your Kre8me Maternity Belt for yourself or for the pregnant woman in your life from Amazon!
