We are happily and excitedly expecting our second child in July. I am a big planner and like to organize and am decorating a nursery for the baby. We had planned on not finding out the gender of this baby. We did not find out with our son and he was a great surprise. I was in fact happily planning a woodland gender neutral nursery when we received our big ultrasound. I informed the technician we did not want to know the gender of our child. However, as time went on, we inadvertently found out the gender of our baby.
One of the things I really love in a children’s room, specifically a nursery are black out curtains. This baby’s room has big windows directly in place of the sun rise. If we have any hope of ever sleeping in blackout curtains are much needed items. I was fortunate to work with the wonderful people from Luxury Homes Blackouts. They offered two colors of curtains to try out, pink or blue. I had to make a decision in order to showcase them on the blog, and Xavier already has a blackout curtain in his room so we decided to pick the color to also reveal the gender of our baby to be.
We chose PINK, for our sweet baby girl! We certainly want our sweet baby girl to get a comfortable and restful sleep. It has been proven that babies sleep better in a cool and dark environment. In fact Luxury Homes Blackout curtains block out 99.9% of light and UV rays that come in the window and they block heat and cold reducing your energy costs by up to 33%. I was really excited to try out Luxury Homes Blackout curtains because they are made from premium quality thermal insulated fabric that is sewn with an unlined triple weave fabric construction. They are extremely soft and drape much better than any other black out curtain I have ever used. I am sorry to say my son’s blackout curtain feels more like a vinyl tablecloth, yet for our baby girl these curtains are luxuriously soft and look like a real curtain would. This was a definite bonus as her room has bigger windows than my son’s. They are easy to hang, look great and best of all, block out light!
Luxury Homes Blackout Curtains are perfect for late sleepers, shift-workers, seniors, nurseries, and people prone to migraines. They are available in 52”W x 95”L with a set of matching tie backs and come in Brown, Burgundy, Pink or Turquoise. You can purchase them on Amazon!
